Serving Los Angeles, CA

Horrorphotographerin Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is home. We built the studio here, we shoot here most weeks, and most of the images on this site were made within about half an hour of downtown. If you are looking for a horror photographer in LA, you are already in the right place — and you do not need a costume, a concept, or any shoot experience to start.

A city built for this

LA has an unfair advantage for horror work: it is full of rooms that already look like a set. Wood-panelled offices that have not been touched since 1974. Motel corridors. Warehouse spaces in the Arts District with twenty-foot ceilings and no neighbours to annoy at midnight. Craftsman and Victorian houses up in Angelino Heights that horror productions have been quietly using for decades. We spend a lot of time scouting these, because a real location beats a seamless backdrop every single time.

How we light it

Everything practical wherever we can manage it — real haze, real hard light, real colour gels rather than a filter added afterwards. That matters more in LA than most places, because so much of the local look is borrowed from films shot here. Get the light right and a portrait reads like a frame from a movie. Get it wrong and it reads like a costume in someone’s living room.

Getting to you

We cover the greater LA area without a travel fee — Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park, downtown, the Eastside, and out toward the Valley. Further afield is negotiable and usually a yes. If you have a location in mind already, tell us where and we will tell you honestly whether it will photograph.

Locations

Where we shoot in LA

Downtown & the Arts District
Warehouse spaces, loading docks, and stairwells. Best for scale — full-length shots where the room is as much of the subject as you are.
Angelino Heights & the Eastside
Victorian and Craftsman architecture. Porches, doorways, and stair rails that carry a slasher mood without any set dressing.
Hollywood
Old-Hollywood glamour for pin-up work, plus the best costume and prop shops in the city if your concept needs something built.
Our studio
Full control — geometric sets, colour gels, haze, and a floor we are allowed to get fake blood on. Where most of the red-room images were made.

Los Angeles Questions

Frequently
asked.

How much does a horror photoshoot cost in Los Angeles?

It depends on scope — a single-look portrait session and a multi-look narrative editorial with set builds are very different jobs. Send your idea through the booking form and we come back with real numbers rather than a vague range. We would rather quote your actual shoot than a hypothetical one.

Do you have a studio, or do you shoot on location in LA?

Both. We have a studio for controlled work — gels, haze, built sets — and we scout LA locations when a concept needs a real room. Plenty of shoots use both in one day. Tell us the idea and we will suggest which makes sense.

When should I book for Halloween in LA?

Early. October is the busiest month by a wide margin and it books out months ahead, often by midsummer. If you are reading this in September and hoping for an October date, still ask — cancellations happen — but do not count on it.

Do you travel outside Los Angeles?

Yes. Greater LA has no travel fee. Beyond that is case by case and usually a yes, especially for events and conventions. Ask and we will work it out.
